Nashville is a mecca for foodies, and the scene’s growth is nowhere close to over, with openings and new concepts announced daily. To keep up with the growth, the Business Journal compiles a weekly list of need-to-know restaurant news. Here’s the latest from Music City’s culinary boom.
Von Elrod’s Beer Hall & Kitchen expands
One of Nashville’s favorite beer gardens is getting an upgrade, announced a news release.
Owner and founder Austin Ray announced Von Elrod’s Beer Hall & Kitchen, located at 1004 4th Ave. N. in Germantown, plans to have a heated and covered 6,500-square-foot indoor-outdoor pavilion by spring 2023. This addition will replace the current beer garden.
“We are seeing increasing demand for space, both for private events and regular business, especially during weekend brunches and ‘Big Stein Thursdays,’” Ray said in the release. “The vision for the property was always to use the entire space as a sprawling beer garden.”
The addition allows for private events of up to 300 people and also houses a second kitchen and storage space. Signature steins of beer, cocktails and house-made food can be purchased from the walk-up bar and grill.
Work on the new addition is set to start after Nashville’s Oktoberfest, which is scheduled for October 6-9.
“The announcements of multiple new mixed-use and multi-family construction projects immediately adjacent to Von Elrod’s helped fuel the decision to expand,” Ray said.
Ray is the president and founder of Nashville-based A. Ray Hospitality, which operates M.L. Rose and Melrose Billiard Parlor in addition to Von Elrod’s.
